EVENT CURATORIAL WORK

"Baltimore Says Boo" was a fundraising event for the Greenmount West Community Center, held in October 2023. The event aimed to raise funds for community programs and initiatives, featuring activities, live entertainment, and local vendors. As the marketing lead, I utilized tools such as Instagram ads and reels to promote the event. I also handled DJ bookings and artist outreach to secure talent, helping to increase ticket sales. Working closely with a team of two, we successfully elevated the event's visibility and engagement within the community.

HEALING THROUGH MOVEMENT

Healing Through Movement is an all-women's event curated by me, aimed at destigmatizing negative perceptions of pole dancing. The event provides a welcoming space for women to experience this form of physical fitness while fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. As the director, I played a key role in engaging with community members and assembling a team to bring this event to life.

At Towson University, I collaborated with Dr. Mahnaz Moallem and graduate student Ayeni Anuoluwapo on an innovative project to create immersive virtual simulations. We transformed MP4 videos of first-generation students sharing their experiences into engaging VR content. Hosted on the Engage VR platform, the project aimed to educate the campus community about the challenges faced by first-generation students while showcasing the potential of virtual reality technology. This initiative aligns with the rapidly growing VR market, projected to expand by 33% annually through 2032.
